The moon was full, it was so quiet on the lake. You could hear the crickets singing their joyful songs and the owls hooting along like the bass drum of the band. The sloshing waves of the lake were as soothing as a nice cold lemonade after a long summer run.
We had been camping, the three of us. Me, Roy, and my two friends, Sara, and Zack. I was sitting at the picnic table by the big tree near our camp site. Zack had climbed the big tree and was now looking out over the lake. Sara was asleep in the tent. We are all only thirteen years old so you are probably wondering how we are camping all alone. Well it was summer and our parents had decided it would be ok if we went out camping for a few days. I mean what could go wrong? That's what they thought anyways! But have you ever heard the saying, "Whatever can go wrong, will"? Well it's true!
"Hey, Zack, ya see anything interesting?" I asked.
"No, but i've squashed a bunch of spiders!" He answered.
Zack hates spiders he claims not to be afraid of them but I think otherwise!
"Hey what time is it?" Zack asked jumping from the tree.
"Nine o' clock P.M. Sharp." I said looking at my watch.
"I'm gonna go to bed, the fish bite early and I want to get up to catch them." He said.
"Ok, i'm gonna get one more line in before I go to bed." I said picking up my fishing rod.
"Kay." Zack said,"see ya in the morning."
I walked down the dock, stuck a worm on the hook, and casted the line out. I started slowly reeling it in then the line wouldn't come anymore. It must have snagged on an underwater branch or rock. I gave it a few good tugs and it came loose. After reeling it in the rest of the way I noticed that there was some moss on the hook. Pulling the hook closer I pulled the moss off, I felt something solid inside the moss, about the size of a rock. After pulling all of the moss off I held up what was in it to the moon for a better view. It was a huge saphire.
I felt the wind pick up, in huge gusts that almost knocked me down. The water started to swirl, a whirlpool was forming! The water went around and around!
How was this happening? There was absolutly no reasonal expination to why this was happening! I ran back to the tent to wake up the others.
"Sara, Zack, come look at this!" I yelled.
"What is it?!?" Sara said bolting up from her sleep.
Zack didn't wake up. He just slept, slept through the wind, water, and shouts.
"WAKE UP!" Sara screamed in his ear.
"What? What is it?" He said
That's all of the story i'm gonna post for now I hope to update it so there's more daily but sometimes i'll be too busy just check back constantly to hear more of it!
